Jon Lovitz's rise to stardom began when he was accepted into the main company of the famed Groundlings improv and sketch comedy group. After the premiere of his character "Tommy Flanagan of Pathological Liars Anonymous" on "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson" he managed earn a spot as a regular cast member of "Saturday Night Live."
During his run on "SNL" from 1985 to 1992 he became known for many characters including "Master Thespian," Hannukah Harry" and "The Devil," garnering two Emmy nominations in the process.
Jon's movie career spans more than thirty films including "Big," "A League of Their Own," "The Wedding Singer," "High School High," "Happiness," "The Producers," "Southland Tales" and "Rat Race."
An accomplished voice actor, Lovitz played the lead character "Jay Sherman" in the cult animated series "The Critic" and has appeared on "The Simpsons" many times, most famously as Marge Simpson's high school date Artie Ziff.
Jon's stage credits include Neil Simon's "The Dinner Party" on Broadway and three singing appearances in Carnegie Hall.
Lovitz made a recent career change to pursue his lifelong dream as a stand-up comic. He now headlines nightclubs, theatres and casinos across the country.
