Growing up in the small resort town of Medical Lake, Washington, Kevin Beekin knew two things from a very early age. One was that he wanted to get the hell out of that godforsaken place, and the other was that some day, he wanted to come back -- as a celebrity.
Mission accomplished.
In 2005, Kevin was selected to be the keynote speaker of the graduation ceremony of Medical Lake's Daniel Webster Elementary School, one of his alma maters. The students were enthralled by Kevin's tales, so much so that three of the 12 sixth graders asked for his autograph. But why? Why were these kids so impressed?
Eloquent, charming, remarkably compelling, Kevin Beekin is the figurehead of the hard-hitting Spokane news team. Like his heroes, Edward R. Murrow, Chris Matthews and the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Kevin is unafraid to speak the truth... even when it hurts, no matter what the consequences... even in the glare of the media spotlight, where one wrong word could mean a severe comeuppance of one sort or another.
Kevin majored in Elementary Education at Spokane Community College, where he also minored in geography and in his free time played quarterback for the football team, until a hand injury cut his career short during pre-season of his freshman year. He likes to tell people that as quarterback, he never lost a game.
Kevin lives in a large two-bedroom split level ranch with a hot tub in a very nice part of town. He drives a Chrysler Seabring and is unmarried.
