MEGAN RING PROMOTED TO SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, PRODUCTION


NEW YORK, October 22, 2012 – Megan Ring has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Production, COMEDY CENTRAL, it was announced by Momita Sengupta, Senior Vice President, Production, Viacom Entertainment Group, to whom she reports. Ring was formerly Vice President, Production and is based in the network's New York headquarters.

“Megan has been doing a phenomenal job overseeing both the East Coast and West Coast CC production teams. She works tirelessly and with a kind of passion and grace that's inspirational,” says Sengupta.

Ring oversees COMEDY CENTRAL’s bi-coastal Production department, which is responsible for physical production of the brand’s original series, special, events and development production. In addition to managing these aspects of content, Ring also contributes to long-term strategic budgeting and planning for the network.

Before joining COMEDY CENTRAL in 2003, Ring was a freelance Producer/Line Producer in Los Angeles. Her primary focus was independent dramas and children’s entertainment, often involving production overseas. She started her media career in San Francisco at a post production facility before moving to Los Angeles where she held a staff production position with an independent production company, Tapestry Films. Ring followed this up with freelance producing, as well as project-based development at iFilm.com and consulting work for Fox TV Studios, before returning to her native NY in ’02.

Ring holds a BA degree in English from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
