NEW YORK, January 31, 2011 -- "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" has cemented its place as the #1 late night show in cable, topping the charts among Total Viewers, Persons 18-49, Men 18-34 and Men 18-24 for the month of January. The series also scored an across-the-board victory for the week of January 24, besting "Conan" in all major demos, including, for the first time, Persons 18-34. Among all of late night, cable and broadcast included, "The Daily Show" finished the month as the #1 late night show among Men 18-34 and Men 18-24. "The Daily Show" has beaten "Conan" in Total Viewers and Men 18-24 every week since the end of November (week of 11/29) and has been the top-rated late night show in cable among Persons 18-49 every week in 2011. Among Persons 18-34, "The Daily Show" scored its first weekly victory over "Conan" for the week of January 24, up 8 percent vs. "Conan" on ratings and 5 percent on delivery, and has narrowed the gap over the full month to a slight 6 percent in the demo.
Versus January 2010, "The Daily Show" is up 9 percent in Total Viewers (1.556 million vs. 1.422 million), while "Conan" is down 3 percent vs. the January 2010 performance of "Lopez Tonight" (1.153 million vs. 1.123 million).
"The Daily Show" airs Monday-Thursday at 11:00 p.m. and repeats at 1:30 a.m. the same night and at 9:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. the following day (all times ET/PT).
