MOMITA SENGUPTA NAMED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, PRODUCTION,
MTV NETWORKS ENTERTAINMENT GROUP


MTV Exec Assumes Post At Entertainment Group Headquarters In Los Angeles


NEW YORK, November 4, 2009 -- Momita SenGupta has been named senior vice president, production, MTV Networks' Entertainment Group, which is comprised of a multi-platform portfolio of brands featuring the Comedy Central, Spike TV and TV Land cable channels and those channels' respective Web sites as well as Internet sites Atom.com and GameTrailers.com. The new hire was announced by John Cucci, chief operating officer for the Entertainment Group, to whom SenGupta will report.

In her new role, SenGupta will oversee all physical production for long form scripted, reality and animated series, specials and tent-poles, as well as on-air promotions for Comedy Central, Spike TV and TV Land. In addition, she will supervise all daily production operations, technical personnel, production budgets and production planning for the MTVN Entertainment Group.

"She brings an incredible wealth of experience and relationships to the Group and a strategic approach to production, ever more important as we ramp up the volume of original content production across all of our businesses."

Since 2006, SenGupta has been senior vice president, series production, for all MTV series and pilots on the west coast, overseeing a staff of nine and, before that as vice president of the department, overseeing all aspects of production and post production including legal and music on motion pictures since 1995.

SenGupta joined MTV Films in 1995 and worked on such movies as “Election,” “Kings Of Comedy,” “Jackass 1 & 2” and the classic “Pootie Tang.” She holds a MFA from University of Southern California and earned a BS from University of California, Los Angeles.

The MTV Networks Entertainment Group is a division of MTV Networks, a unit of Viacom (NYSE: VIA, VIA B), and is comprised of a multi-platform portfolio of adult and male-focused brands featuring the Comedy Central, Spike TV and TV Land cable channels, and their respective web sites, as well as internet comedy site Atom.com and videogame focused GameTrailers.com.
