Has Performed On "The Daily Show"
NEW YORK, June 24, 2008 -- Coldplay will perform on the Emmy® and Peabody® Award-winning "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" tomorrow (June 25) at 11:00 p.m. (ET/PT). This mark's only the third time that "The Daily Show" has invited a musical act to perform on the show, with previous appearances by "The White Stripes," who performed on December 1, 2005, and Tom Waits, who performed on November 28, 2006. Coldplay's performance will be available online the following day at "www.thedailyshow.com".
Coldplay's appearance on "The Daily Show" comes on the heels of the band's recent release of its latest album, "Viva La Vida" (Capitol Music Group), which went on sale on June 17. The band will launch their "Viva La Vida" North American tour at The Forum in Los Angeles on July 14. To celebrate the "Viva La Vida" tour and album, Coldplay has already performed free concerts in London (June 16) and Barcelona (June 17) and last night at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The complete tour itinerary can be found at www.coldplay.com or at www.livenation.com.
