COMEDY CENTRAL Records Releases "Jim Gaffigan: Beyond The Pale" CD On Tuesday, February 7
NEW YORK, NY, January 17, 2006—Watch him on TV or listento him on CD. Either way the laughs remain the same. COMEDY CENTRAL provides not one, but two ways to enjoy comedian Jim Gaffigan's latest tour–de–force. Don't miss the world premiere of "Jim Gaffigan: Beyond The Pale" Sunday, January 29 at 9:00 p.m. and the COMEDY CENTRAL Records CD release of "Jim Gaffigan: Beyond The Pale," available in stores nationwide andshop.comedycentral.com on Tuesday, February 7.
Beyond Jim Gaffigan's white guy, "everyman" exterior, is a passion for life, laughs and fine food…particularly hot pockets. Filmed and recorded in Chicago's historic Vic Theater, the "Jim Gaffigan: Beyond The Pale" special and CD showcase the comic's humorous perspective on everyday situations, deadpan delivery and knack for pointing out the not–so–obvious. From the very first moments, Gaffigan's unique comedic persona takes over–cantankerous but endearing, clean butcutting–with an irrepressible "inside voice" that keeps wickedly popping out, causing viewers and listeners to crack up with laughter. Highlights from the performance include the comic's examination of American obesity, the way cake brings people together and Gaffigan's realization that holiday traditions have little relevance to the holiday being observed.
Gaffigan has performed stand-up in comedy venues and theatres all over the country. He's had comedic turns on renowned television shows such as "Sex and the City," "That 70's Show," and "Ellen" and continues to make frequent guest appearances on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and "The Late Show with David Letterman." Gaffigan also stars alongside Tilda Swinton, Timothy Hutton and Amber Tamblyn in the new dramatic feature film, "Stephanie Daley," an official selection of the 2006 Sundance Film Festival.
In addition to "Jim Gaffigan: Beyond The Pale," COMEDY CENTRAL Records has previously released Lewis Black's Grammy–nominated "Luther Burbank Performing Arts Center Blues," Dane Cook's platinum–selling "Retaliation," D.L. Hughley's "Notes From The GED Section," Gaffigan's own "Doing My Time," Denis Leary's "Merry F#%$in' Christmas," Mitch Hedberg's "Mitch All Together" and "Strategic Grill Locations" and "Dave Attell's "Skanks For The Memories." Other releases include "The Marijuana Logues" and "Crank Yankers: The Best Uncensored Crank Calls" (Vol. 1, 2 and 3).
