The Ninth Series Of "Premium Blend" Will Premiere Fall 2005
NEW YORK, August 9, 2005—Damon Wayans comes full-circle. He went from stand-up comedy to series television to movies and now he is back doing stand-up, hosting an all-new ninth season of COMEDY CENTRAL's "Premium Blend." The show will tape August 25 - August 27 at the Auditorium at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City and will debut fall 2005.
COMEDY CENTRAL's "Premium Blend" has served as a breeding ground for up-and-coming stars. Past seasons have been hosted by Jamie Kennedy, D.L. Hughely, Wanda Sykes, David Alan Grier, Kathy Griffin, Jim Breuer, Tommy Davidson, Harland Williams with performances by John Henton, Mario Cantone, Chris Titus, Slovin & Allen, Greg Fitzsimmons, Tom Papa, Randy and Jason Sklar, Doug Stanhope, Stephen Lynch, Arj Barker, Adam Ferrara, Hal Sparks, Jim Norton and Darrell Hammond, among many others.
The new season of "Premium Blend," a premiere showcase for comedians, features 12 half-hour episodes starring the best and brightest stars. Some of the comedians who will perform in the ninth season include: Anthony Jeselnik, Blair Butler, Dan Levy, Sebastian, Kyle Cease, John Roy, Rena Zager and many more.
Wayans is no stranger to comedy. For three seasons he co-starred in and wrote for the critically-acclaimed, Emmy Award-winning series "In Living Color," for which he also received two Emmy nominations. He then went on to star in "My Wife and Kids" on ABC for three seasons. Not only has he appeared on television with many credits to his name, but he has also appeared in many films such as "Major Payne," "Blankman," "Bulletproof," "Mo' Money," "The Great White Hype," "Celtic Pride," "The Last Boy Scout," and many more.
Credits for the ninth season of "Premium Blend" include Paul Miller and Kimber Rickabaugh of RickMill Productions who serve as executive producers. Emmy-Award winner Paul Miller is also the director. The programming executive for COMEDY CENTRAL is Lou Wallach.
