NEW YORK, May 31, 2005 -- The Reno deputies lay down the law as COMEDY CENTRAL's "RENO 911!" returns for a third season, to debut Tuesday, June 14 at 10:00 p.m. The half-hour comedy is created by and stars Robert Ben Garant, Kerri Kenney-Silver and Thomas Lennon as cops patrolling Reno, Nevada. The 11-episode series is a Jersey Television production in association with COMEDY CENTRAL and is a hilarious take on the traditional cop drama with soap opera-like twists and turns.
Encore presentations of "RENO 911!" air Tuesday at midnight, Thursday at 10:00 p.m. and midnight, Friday at 12:30 a.m. and Sunday at midnight.
The debut episode is the first of a two-part resolution to last season's cliffhanger that saw the deputies kicked off the Reno force and sent to prison. However, a specter from their past continues to haunt them through episode two. The new season also introduces a new female member to the Reno Sheriff's Department, Deputy Cheresa Kimball (Mary Birdsong). Future episodes include the deputies guarding Liberace's piano, Deputy Johnson (Wendi McLendon-Covey) enticing the Hot Tub King of Reno, a possible S.A.R.S. outbreak in town and a marriage proposal for Deputy Wiegel.
On Friday, June 10, COMEDY CENTRAL presents "RENO 911! Friday Night Stand-up" hosted by Deputy Garcia (Carols Alazraqui) and Deputy Jones (Cedric Yarbrough) of "RENO 911!" and features stand-up performances by comedians who have appeared on "RENO 911!" including Nick Swardson and Patton Oswalt. The night also includes the half-hour show, "COMEDY CENTRAL PRESENTS Carlos Alazraqui."
"RENO 911! The Complete Second Season" DVD, to be released on Tuesday, June 14, is a three-disc DVD boxed set featuring all 16 original and uncensored episodes. The DVD includes over two hours of bonus features and audio commentary from the cast on selected episodes.
As "RENO 911!" enters its third season, comedycentral.com will launch a dynamic, fun and informative sitelet. Users will be exposed to video bios of the officers, a Reno Sheriff's Department "recruitment video," a RENO-branded poker game that will be called "RENO Hold 'Em Poker" (launching June 20), exclusive DVD outtake footage, a weekly newsletter with exclusive updates from Lt. Jim Dangle himself and some additional downloads to promote the new cast member Mary Birdsong as Officer Kimball.
"RENO 911!" gives viewers the chance to witness the men and women of the Reno Sheriff's Department at work and at play, offering a hilarious and unexpected spoof of the traditional cop reality program. With an ensemble cast that features "Viva Variety" and "The State" alumni Robert Ben Garant, Kerri Kenney-Silver and Thomas Lennon, "RENO 911!" is a narrative comedy about the adventures and relationships of a local Reno, Nevada precinct. Joining Garant, Kenney-Silver and Lennon on the "RENO 911!" beat are Mary Birdsong, Cedric Yarbrough, Niecy Nash, Carlos Alazraqui and Wendi McLendon-Covey. Credits for "RENO 911!" include John Landgraf, Garant, Kenney-Silver and Lennon as executive producers and Peter Principato and Paul Young as co-executive producers. Jim Sharp serves as the executive in charge of production for COMEDY CENTRAL. Jersey Television was formerly headed by John Landgraf, who is now president and general manager of the cable network FX.
