NEW YORK, May 2, 2005 -- One of the most highly recognized and popular stand-up comedians on the road today will stamp his name on COMEDY CENTRAL with his own original stand-up special. "DL Hughley: Shocked & Appalled" was taped in front of a live audience at New York City's John Jay College of Criminal Justice this past summer and premieres Sunday, May 15 at 10:00 p.m. only on COMEDY CENTRAL.
"DL Hughley: Shocked & Appalled," repeats Sunday, May 15 at 12:00 a.m. and Friday, May 20 at 11:00 p.m.
In this special, dapper DL Hughley may look clean-cut, but looks can be deceiving when it comes to this highly outspoken, fearless comic. Join him as he takes on the topics of race, politics and marriage in this brand new hilarious COMEDY CENTRAL one-hour stand-up special.
"DL Hughley: Shocked & Appalled," is the eighth installment of COMEDY CENTRAL's one-hour stand-up showcase. The special follows "Kevin James: Sweat the Small Stuff," "Jim Breuer: Hardcore," "Tracy Morgan: One Mic," "Wanda Sykes: Tongue Untied," "The Book Of David: The Cult Figure's Manifesto Starring David Alan Grier," "Jay Mohr: My Turn" and "Patton Oswalt: No Reason to Complain," establishing COMEDY CENTRAL as the home for premium stand-up specials.
Best known for his portrayal of Darryl Hughley on UPN's hit show "The Hughleys" in which he created and starred for four seasons, DL Hughley returns to his stand-up roots with COMEDY CENTRAL's "DL Hughley: Shocked & Appalled." He began his career as a comedian working in small clubs and has since established himself as an extremely talented comedic actor. Hughley has appeared in several movies and television shows and is one of the "Original Kings of Comedy."
