Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Viacom Entertainment Group
John Cucci is the Chief Operating Officer for Viacom Entertainment Group, which is comprised of a multi-platform portfolio of brands featuring the COMEDY CENTRAL, Spike TV and TV Land cable channels and Web sites, as well as the internet site GameTrailers.com. In this position, Cucci directly oversees the Entertainment Group's corporate strategy and business development, production management and public responsibility functions as well as oversight and responsibility for the finance, business and legal affairs and human resources areas.
Prior to his current position, Cucci spent three years as Chief Financial Officer at MTV Networks (2003-2006) where he was responsible for managing the worldwide financial operations of the company. Before that, Cucci spent twelve years at COMEDY CENTRAL as one of the key architects in the launch and expansion of the all-comedy channel, arriving at its inception in March of 1991 as Vice President, Finance and Controller and growing with the company into the position of Chief Operating Officer in 2001, a position he held until his move to the channel's parent company, MTV Networks, as CFO.
Previously, Cucci worked as an auditor for Peat, Marwick and Mitchell, then a big-eight accounting firm, which he joined immediately out of college. He moved to Time Inc. three years later and spent three years in their financial reporting group. Cucci then joined HBO where he did two three-year stints, the first as Director of Financial Planning and Budgeting and the second as Director of Programming Finance. It was during his tenure at HBO that Cucci earned his Masters Degree at Columbia University as a participant in the business school's Executive Program. Cucci then spent two years at Time Warner as head of their corporate financial reporting group before going to COMEDY CENTRAL.
Cucci holds the aforementioned Masters Degree in Business from Columbia University and a BS in Accounting from the University of Delaware.
