Vice President/Creative Director, Brand Creative
John Cassidy is the Vice President, Creative Director for all customized COMEDY CENTRAL advertiser-integrated on-air short form, as part of Network Brand Creative. He also handles certain precincts of the creative direction for series and events promotion.
Cassidy works with COMEDY CENTRAL integrated marketing, advertising sales and network advertising partners to create added-value products. He also executes on these packages, with the help of his in-house creative team and some assistance from independent writers, producers and comedians. If he were into bragging, Cassidy might tell you that COMEDY CENTRAL’s integrated marketing work has been honored with dozens of industry awards.
Dating back to the prior millennium, Cassidy served as a writer, producer and director of on-air promotion at COMEDY CENTRAL. Prior to his arrival at the network in 1997, he wrote and produced promos for Cartoon Network from 1995 to 1997; worked assorted jobs in MTV production from 1992 to 1995, including a stint with “The Jon Stewart Show” and served in the Page Program at NBC. Before that, he was a diving coach, lifeguard and mowed lawns for money. He has been a Vice President in Comedy Central Brand Creative since 2007.
Cassidy is a graduate of the University of Virginia. He also has competencies in standard transmissions, husbanding and fatherhood.
