Gary Gradinger is Executive Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, Business & Legal Affairs, COMEDY CENTRAL and TV Land. He is based in the network’s Santa Monica headquarters.
Gradinger has strong relationships with the agents and lawyers with whom the network negotiates daily, ensuring that COMEDY CENTRAL and TV Land's interests are well represented.
Gradinger comes to Viacom from Fox 21 where he ran the Business & Legal Affairs department for that Twentieth Century Fox Television’s division that develops and produces comedy, drama, and animation for cable and unscripted (reality) programming for all networks. He negotiated license and co-production agreements, in some cases setting the template for the studio, especially on new media issues.
Gradinger holds an accomplished history that dates back to 1995 where he began work in Business Affairs at Universal Television as a Manager. Gradinger was quickly promoted to Director and then Vice President during his short span with the company. After Universal Television, Gradinger moved to Warner Brothers Television as a Vice President of Business Affairs and then Artist Television Group (“ATG”) as the Head of Television Business Affairs. Gradinger was then appointed as Head of Television Business Affairs at United Talent Agency (UTA), where for seven years he advised the agency and negotiated entertainment transactions, primarily in television in both the scripted and reality genres.
Gradinger holds a JD from the University of Southern California and a BA from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a member of the State Bar of California.
