Senior Vice President, Movie Studio Production - Comedy Central and Spike
As Senior Vice President of Movie Studio Production for COMEDY CENTRAL and SPIKE, Eric Blume is in charge of developing and producing promotional programming for upcoming theatrical releases, in partnership with all of the movie studios. He is the Executive Producer for COMEDY CENTRAL and SPIKE's behind-the-scenes theatrical movie franchises, “REEL COMEDY” and "ACTION!" and writes, directs, and produces various short-form programming with movie talent. Blume's team develops relationships with film talent, maintains relationships with movie studios, and oversees creative and strategic branding for all movie-related programming.
Blume joined COMEDY CENTRAL in 1997. Prior to that, he was a professional actor with various regional theatres and a film critic for SRO Magazine, an arts magazine in Pittsburgh, PA. He holds two BA degrees, in English and in Film Theory, from Pennsylvania State University where he graduated as valedictorian of the School of Communications. He also earned an MA in Theatre from Emerson College and The Boston Conservatory.
Blume speaks French, travels extensively, sees a lot of movies and theater, and hikes into the middle of nowhere whenever possible.
