Don Steele
Vice President, Digital Marketing – MTV Networks Entertainment Group

Don Steele is vice president, digital marketing for the MTVN Entertainment Group. Based in New York, he reports to Erik Flannigan, executive vice president, digital media, MTVNEG. In this position, Steele is responsible for setting the strategy and implementing all digital marketing initiatives for the Web sites and digital brands of COMEDY CENTRAL, Spike TV and TV Land cable channels.

Steele joined COMEDY CENTRAL in 2006 and moved to the MTVNEG in 2008. He has identified and implemented successful cross brand strategies in search, word of mouth, mobile, e-mail and social networks, promoting programming on the networks as well as the launch of such popular Web sites as SouthParkStudios.com and Indecision2008.com. He works closely with the mobile group, driving development of WAP sites and iPhone applications.

As a respected member of the digital marketing community, Steele has spoken often at events such as OMMA, DPAC, DigiDay, SES New York and Chicago, eTail and Social Times on topics ranging from Managing Your Brand in Social Networks to The Value of Search Engine Marketing for Entertainment Brands.

Before joining COMEDY CENTRAL, Steele managed all e-commerce business for the Food Network. He began his career in the digital space working for DELiA*s.com after a background in the catalog industry working for Mitchell & Ness. He is a graduate of Washington College and lives in the Bronx with his wife and two children.
