Vice President, Strategic Insights and Research
Seasoned research executive Chanon Cook is Vice President, Strategic Insights and Research for COMEDY CENTRAL, of the Viacom Entertainment Group. Cook is based in New York and reports to Tanya Giles, Executive Vice President, Strategic Insights and Research, for the Entertainment Group.
Cook is responsible for advancing programming and brand development through research for COMEDY CENTRAL as well as providing key consumer insights to guide creative, actionable network strategy. She will also work closely with other members of the Entertainment Group, advancing its understanding of Millennials and their overall media usage.
Before taking on this current position in 2007, Cook was Senior Director, Programming Research, for COMEDY CENTRAL, a job she held since 2006. Prior to that, Cook was Director, Research at Lifetime Television from 2004-06 and Director, Research and Planning at Universal Television, USA Networks, joining them in 2002 after an earlier stint at COMEDY CENTRAL where she held positions as Finance Coordinator (1997-1999), Senior Analyst, Programming Research (1999-2000) and Manager, Programming Research (2000-2002).
Cook holds a MA from the New School University in New York. Her undergraduate BA degree was completed at Lyon College in Arkansas.
