Chanon Cook
Senior Vice President, Strategic Insights and Research

Seasoned research executive Chanon Cook is Senior Vice President, Strategic Insights and Research for COMEDY CENTRAL, of the Viacom Entertainment Group. Cook is based in New York and reports to Tanya Giles, Executive Vice President, Strategic Insights and Research, for the Entertainment Group.

Cook is responsible for advancing programming and brand development across all viewing platforms through research for COMEDY CENTRAL as well as providing key consumer insights to guide creative, actionable network strategy. She works closely with other members of the Entertainment Group, advancing its understanding of Millennials and their overall media usage.

Cook’s work has been recognized throughout the entertainment and research industries as the recipient of the 2012 David Ogilvy Award from the Advertising Research Foundation and the 2009 CTAM Research Case Study Award.

Before taking on this current position in 2012, Cook was Vice President, Programming Research, for COMEDY CENTRAL, a job she held since 2007. Prior to that, Cook was Director, Research at Lifetime Television from 2004-06 and Director, Research and Planning at Universal Television, USA Networks, joining them in 2002 after an earlier stint at COMEDY CENTRAL where she held positions as Finance Coordinator (1997-1999), Senior Analyst, Programming Research (1999-2000) and Manager, Programming Research (2000-2002).

Cook holds a MA from the New School University in New York. Her undergraduate BA degree was completed at Lyon College in Arkansas.
