Ben Hurst is Vice President, Mobile and Emerging platforms, Viacom Entertainment Group, which is comprised of a multi-platform portfolio of brands featuring the COMEDY CENTRAL, Spike TV and TV Land cable channels and Web sites as well as Internet sites Atom.com and GameTrailers.com.
Hurst oversees all discrete application and services development for new digital platforms and the Entertainment Group's mobile sites, including production, sales support and maintenance. He works as a bridge between the content and marketing teams and the product and tech development organizations. Hurst also controls the pipeline and roadmap for all Apps, as well as sales opportunities therein.
Hurst was formerly Vice President, Business Development and Strategy, responsible for leading strategic planning projects for COMEDY CENTRAL and also spearheads major group level business development initiatives in areas such as syndication, acquisitions and new business launches. Hurst’s experience and talents make him the perfect person to drive some of the Entertainment Group’s most critical projects.
Hurst joined Joost in 2007 and from 2002-2005 was Manager, and then Director, of Business Development and Ad Sales Strategy at MTV Networks. Prior to that, he was a financial analyst at Goldman, Sachs & Co. since 1999.
He holds an MBA from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business and earned a BBA in Finance from the University of Michigan.
