Q: What's the first joke you ever wrote?
A: When I was like 7, after dinner during dessert almost every night, I would hold a Keebler Fudge Stripes cookie in my hands and ask my mom Together or apart? And then she would guess whether the cookie was together or apart. And if she said together,I'd break it sneakily. And if she said apart, I'd say, Wrong, ha ha ha.It was a physical bit.
Q: What is the source of your sense of humor?
A: My parents raised my brothers and I in a household with a focus on strong moral values and not looking stupid in public. So I think I use that.
Q: In school, were you the class clown or quiet nerd?
A: Quiet nerd. I played football and stuff and really liked attention, but I was too afraid to get into trouble to do anything really class clowny.
Q: Is it better to be feared or loved on your way up the comedy ladder?
A: Loved. Because then people give you hugs.
Q: Your stardom: a karmic inevitability or old fashioned luck?
A:I feel really lucky to be able to do what I do.
