Perhaps best known for her hilarious portrayal of the over-the-top Mimi Bobeck on the hit ABC series The Drew Carey Show, actress Kathy Kinney began her career in New York City when she started performing improv at local comedy clubs. In 1986 her friend Bill Sherwood, scribe of the film Parting Glances, cast Kinney in the film that would go on to be recognized as Best Film at the USA Film Festival that year.
In 1987 Kathy moved to Los Angeles and since then has guest-starred on countless television classics including Seinfeld, The Larry Sanders Show, Grace Under Fire, Dream On and Fallen Angels. She appeared for two seasons as Miss Godard, the town librarian on Newhart. Her feature film credits include starring roles in both independent and major studio films, allowing Ms. Kinney to amass quite a body of eclectic film work: Mr. Jones, This Boy's Life, Arachniphobia, Stanley and Iris, The Linguine Incident, The Three Fugitives and Scrooged.
